New Frontier Group Acquires Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Centre to Enhance Cancer Care Services

Monday, May 27, 2024

New Frontier Group is excited to announce the successful acquisition of Hong Kong Integrated Oncology Centre, a prominent private oncology medical platform.

This acquisition includes HKIOC’s facilities on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Oncology Center. HKIOC offers a wide range of cancer treatment services, including early diagnosis, radiotherapy, systemic treatments, mental health support, and rehabilitation services.

HKIOC will integrate with New Frontier’s subsidiary, HEAL Oncology, to form one of Hong Kong’s leading private oncology entities.

This collaboration, along with United Family Healthcare, another New Frontier subsidiary, aims to enhance cross-border cancer care. Surgeons, oncologists, and allied health specialists will work together to establish a nationwide multidisciplinary cancer network.

This acquisition marks a significant development in Hong Kong’s healthcare sector, expanding New Frontier’s footprint in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and fostering advancements in regional cancer care.

New Frontier is committed to addressing the disparity between the growing number of cancer patients and the available care options. The company strives to deliver world-class solutions, improving the five-year survival rate in the region, which currently lags behind other developed areas.

Oncology care is a core focus of New Frontier’s strategic growth plan. Despite the rising incidence of cancer, effective interventions in screening, detection, and advanced treatments like targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy are essential.

Additionally, allied health services, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), mental health support, and physical rehabilitation, will enhance patient experiences and outcomes.

The acquisition brings specialized expertise across various cancer types. New Frontier’s multidisciplinary team (MDT), comprising surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, radiation therapists, and pharmacists, will collaborate to develop precise and personalized treatment plans.

Clinical trials are crucial for advancing cancer treatment. By combining HEAL Oncology and HKIOC’s expertise, New Frontier aims to conduct larger-scale and pioneering clinical trials.

New Frontier’s Presence in the GBA

The acquisition of HKIOC provides incredible depth in treating common and rare cancers. Our investment in research and academia will accelerate our efforts in addressing the greatest health challenges of our time.”

This partnership acknowledges our growth since 2015 and offers an opportunity to contribute to the medical development of the Greater Bay Area. We aim to lay a solid foundation in oncology for decades to come.”
